High School English Teacher
Ty Hayes is one of the newest members of our team, joining Xavier as a High School English Teacher, where he teachers 10th and 11th grades. With eight years of experience in cross-cultural Secondary and Higher Education, Ty is a wonderful addition to our team as he is truly passionate about the transformative power of a Liberal Arts education. Ty received a B.A. in Humanities from Lubbock Christian University and a M.A. in English from Baylor University. Prior to joining Xavier, he oversaw the Department of Liberal Arts at LivingStone International University (LIU) in Mbale, Uganda, the region's premiere Liberal Arts university. Through his role as Dean, he developed the university's English Language and Literature curriculum, managed faculty and staff and taught a variety of Liberal Arts and Education courses. Ty was born in Kenya, East Africa, and spent his childhood there. Then, in 2013, he moved to Uganda and started a school and worked at a university there.
