Prior to joining Xavier, Elizabeth was a writing instructor, English tutor and an educator in arts education. Over the last 20 years, she’s taught film making, creative writing, voice and musical theater. She also excels in narrative therapy and the therapeutic uses of music and meditation. She utilizes a variety of creative tools in the classroom including music, movement, breath work and mindfulness to improve student outcomes. She loves working with children and shares that “it is a great joy of my life to be able to see a child discover something new about themselves through learning in a creative and nurturing classroom environment.” She continues, “Here at Xavier, I love the unique opportunity we have to build the blocks of creative thinking and resilience by offering a multidimensional education to our students.”
Elizabeth received her BA in English Literature from Willamette University and attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Theatre Arts Conservatory. As a child, she lived abroad in Spain and learned Spanish through immersion. As such, she treasures her international experience and finds that it helps her foster comfort and understanding with students of all backgrounds. Elizabeth also enjoys contributing however she can to the special creative atmosphere at Xavier, including creating video content, as well as drawing on her love of singing and songwriting to support the amazing musical performances of Xavier’s talented and creative student body.
